Ghost Ranch: On Location Landscape Painting

The goal of the 2 day workshop is to learn how to paint plein aire with a limited palette.  I’ll discuss color theory, harmony, how to mix paints, the types of light, value planes, value range, how to judge values,  color temperature, composition, edges, modeling, and how to execute a painting quickly .

I’ll do several demos throughout the workshop.  The rest of the time I’ll assist each participant with their own paintings.  We’ll do location painting along the Chama River and near the Ghost Ranch conference center.

You’re responsible for making your own reservations if you're not commuting.  I’ll be driving up early on the 24.  We’ll meet at the Ghost Ranch Conference Center on the Lawn in front of the main office at 9:00 am, April 24th.  I’ll be staying at the Conference center the night of the 24th only.  If you wish to stay there , call the conference center at 1-505-685-4333 and make your own reservations.  You can also make reservations at the Abiquiu Inn, 1-505-685-4378.
